The clutch friction plate/disc must be correctly aligned before it is bolted and mounted to the flywheel on the engine.

If the clutch friction plate is not correctly aligned or accurately positioned then it will be impossible to fit the Porsche gearbox (as the centre of the clutch disc will not line up with the mating spines of the transmission input shaft)
